Our parents seems to be all knowing all the time that is because they are far more experienced than us which is true but the case is we grew at different generation from theirs which is hard for them to embrace these new stuff they’re seeing and experiencing from you. If you are complaining about how your parents treats you then have you also considered how they feel about this changes? I think it will take a matter of time for the people around you to accept what you are and who you are at the time.
Instances that our parents get angry are mostly when we escape chores and flunking school, if you really wanted your parents to accept you then you should gain their trust how about doing good in school academically, join sports, Quiz bee etc… be active in good things so as you could prove to them that you can do other things other than locking yourself up listening to music and all those dark stuff.
If you are really sure of who really you are that is being gothish you say then you have to deal with all things that will condemn you in the future or present. I believe you could do better than this get out and appreciate the worlds best. good luck with your decisions in life.

Try and relate the different intervals to pieces/songs you already know (perfect fifth – twinkle twinkle, major second – frere jacques etc, a list of these can be found on the web). Then carefully run through the melody in your mind before attempting to sing it….it can also help to sing the scale of the key you are in before you start.

I like ambient music, but would now like to explore the darker side of it. (One of my favorite ambient albums is Substrata from Biosphere.)
I’m looking for albums that mostly fit squarely within the dark ambient genre. Classics and “origin” albums are also welcome. I’ve read from several sources that Lustmord’s “Heresy” is considered one of the earliest, and best, examples of dark ambient. Is this true?
I would prefer to avoid the more hardcore variety, leaning toward minimalism, not so much “noise music.”

William Basinski. Some of his music definitely has very sinster overtones. Try an album of his called “Shortwavemusic”.
“Vintage Well” by Deaf Center is nice and ominous.
“Act Of Shimmering” by Jannick Schou is pretty heavy.
Xela has been doing some good, dark music lately. “The Divine” and “In Bocca Al Lupo” are worth a listen.
Definitely check out “Ritual” by Solo Andata. If you enjoy that, have a listen to their self-titled album.
Machinefabriek has his moments. “Dauw” is an excellent album by him. Single tracks worth finding include “Onkruid”, “Somerset” and “Ringoya, Tokyo”.
Red Horse, Grouper, Vladislav Delay, Cindytalk, The Haxan Cloak, Thomas Ankersmit, Rene Hell, Anworth Kirk, Daniel Menche and Seasons (Pre Din) also deal with the darker side of things, from time to time.

Answer by ddrum There are obviously tons of them out there, but I’m on my way to Guitar Center after work to pick up this one. I have read a lot of reviews and settled on the Laguna. I am an electric player and not ready to spend $ 1000 plus for a really good acoustic at this point. It’s $ 499 everywhere else I’ve looked, even Musicians Friend, but $ 399 at GC.
