How to recover lost files?

Issue from anglachel18: How to recover a misplaced file?

I was moving a large folder “music” and accidentally dropped it in the wrong folder of my spare drive. The new folder location is “29bb32ea66e76555ca62″ and all it had in it before was the i386 folder that windows generates on its own. Now the music folder properties say its empty and when I try to open/move/copy the music folder I get an Access is Denied message. Based on the available memory of the whole drive though, the files should still be in there but how do I recover them?

Log in as administrator. If there’s no administrator account, activate it (http://lifehacker.com/341521/enable-vistas-administrator-account ) Administrator has access to everything (so as soon as you recover your folder, log out and log back in as you. If you try, as administrator, to do something that will damage Windows, you’ll be able to. With no warning in most cases.)

hi angelic, how to recover misplaced files is a question we all ask at one time or another but in some cases like yours it is a corrupt system. oh you might be able to recover by hitting start>programs>accessories>system tools scrol down to system restore but when someone ask howe can i find misplaced file then it is a corrupt system now to get them back you have to format your hard drive so what i would do is take my tower and all of my hardware to a computer repairman and tell him that your system has become corrupt and you need to have him format your hard drive. now i know that that would mean you lost your music file that is why you should always transfer all of your music to disk and that way you will never lose it sorry you are having this problem. good luck hope i was helpful to you

Many things could represent sound, but to me it has to be mainly music.

Bit of a cop-out for the challenge, perhaps.
