How to transfer music from LimeWire to iTunes to

Inquiry from Hayley H: How to transfer music from LimeWire onto iTunes?

The music is transferred into “my shared files” on iTunes, but not into my music. It’s a real hassle to have to copy every single song I download from the file onto iTunes. I didn’t have to do this on my old computer, but now that I’ve re-downloaded onto this one, I can’t seem to figure out how to have it transferred automatically into my “Music” file on iTunes. Any suggestions?

Limewire? WTF?

You don;t have to copy each file individually – just use windows explorer to open up the folder on your computer where LW stores your files. Hit ctrl-a to block all the files, then drag and drop into iTunes.

Next – LW? what were you thinking? LW is the single worst thing you can unleash on your computer. It’s not only a significant computer security problem but it’s not even that good for getting the files you want. LW has a bad reputation for installing malware on the computer’s it’s installed in – did you even bother to look into that before installing? That aside, it’s horrible for actually getting music because so many of its users are n00bs who neither know or care about sharing their own music. The app is lousy at filtering out fake files (many of which are likely malicious).

If you must steal music using peer-share, AVOID LIMEWIRE AT ALL COSTS. Consider getting either eMule or WinMX – I’ve used them for years happily getting all but the most obscure stuff. WinMX may have a high learning curve, and you need to make sure that you’re getting a version of eMule from a trustworthy site (don’t just pick the first site that shows up when you google – that’s a boneheaded LW way to get stuff, and you need to get past that).

You can also download from internet sites like beemp3.com or mp3raid – though don’t hesitate to ask around about how safe such sites are. There are no really safe sites – any time you’re downloading, you’re risking an infection.

You can also get music from YouTube. You can download using programs like youtube downloader (again, make sure you get that from a reputable site). Some of these programs will convert the flash to mp3 – if they don’t, a simple program, like Quick Media Converter will simply do the job.

You can also record streaming audio using programs like Audacity. Audacity will save the stream as an mp3. (Audacity is also handy for making your own ringtones). Besides youtube, you can stream from sites like LastFM or the websites for FM radio stations.

Lastly, you can easily rip music from CD’s you borrow from the library or people you know.

hi

A lot more simple than the other answer, transfer music limewire iTunes from How to transfer music from LimeWire to iTunes to httpmusictipsandhints blogspot com once your on limewire, to do it manually, right click on a song, and click on “locate disk” and it will come up with all the songs somewhere on your pc, and then right click again on a song and click “open with” and then click on itunes, then its done. OR! you can go to “tools” on limewire bar at the top and then go to options, open that up and half way down the page it says “configure with itunes” and tick the box and then it should be done, but only works when you dowload music from limewire after you have ticked the box. If that doesn’t work, try updating it, my limewire is 5.5.8, if you got that it should work!!

hope i helped
