If you already use iTunes with the music of the entire “My Music”, a way to prevent the two folders?

Problem by Asking guy: How to avoid double folders when using iTunes and already having “My Music” full of music?

Is it possible to modify song’s name/album/composer/lyrics/artist in iTunes without consolidating it to the Media folder that iTunes itself creates when adding music to the library?

I already have all my music under “My Music” folder and I wouldn’t like to have it twice, since when a song is consolidated, gets copied the Media folder (hope I’m clear enough)
