I’m in the process of purchasing an 09 Mitsubishi eclipse with a Rockford fosgate audio system. The thing is, even though it clearly says “MP3″ on the head unit, neither I nor the dealer can find the hookup anywhere in the vehicle. Now I know that on some units you have to hookup through the cd player but I’m not sure if this is the case with this particular unit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well it probably just means that it will read cd’s with mp3 format. I suggest google the model number and try to find the owners manual for it

It means it plays mp3 format cds. Though most factory radio play audio. The differense is the mp3 cd is higher quality. You can buy a fm transmitter…… they are around 20$
